The Guadalupe County Fair Livestock Show provides Texas exhibitors with an opportunity to present the results of their livestock care, preparation and showmanship.
The livestock exhibitions include:

General Exhibitor Requirements
- Read the current information and official rules for your livestock division.
- Submit the required entry form and payment by the applicable deadline.
- Confirm that the exhibitor and animal meet all eligibility and health requirements.
- Review arrival, check-in, judging and release times before traveling to the Fairgrounds.
- Bring your own livestock bedding or shavings when required by the division.
- Follow all instructions provided by livestock officials and show personnel.

Important Livestock Information
Trailer Parking
Livestock trailer parking is located in the West Field Parking Lot.
Trailers are not permitted past the cattle barn and Dance Pavilion area. The area around the livestock barns is for unloading and loading animals and equipment only.
Care of Exhibits
Exhibitors are responsible for keeping aisles, stalls and pens clean. Trash, litter and used bedding must be placed in the designated disposal areas.
Animal Health
All livestock must comply with applicable Texas Animal Health Regulations and the health requirements contained in the rules for the appropriate division.
Registration & Payment
Registration procedures, fees and deadlines vary by livestock division. Review the appropriate division information before completing an entry.

Beef Cattle Exhibition
The Guadalupe County Fair Beef Cattle Open Show provides exhibitors with an opportunity to present the results of their livestock care, preparation and showmanship.
The Beef Cattle division includes breeding cattle, Beef Steers, Prospect Steers and Junior Prospect Steers.

Beef Cattle Show Information
Entry Deadline

Late entries may be accepted if stall space is available. A $10 cash late fee applies to each late entry.

$30 per animal
The entry fee must accompany the entry.

Beef Steers, Prospect Steers, Junior Prospect Steers and Breeding Beef Cattle arrive Friday.

Animals will be released after judging.
Entry Information
- Beef Cattle entries must be completed online.
- Submit one website entry for each animal.
- The standard entry fee is $30 per animal.
- Entries received after the deadline are subject to a $10 cash late fee.
- Late entries will only be accepted when stall space is available.
- Exhibitors must provide their own livestock shavings.
Trailer Parking, Unloading & Stalls
- Livestock trailer parking is located in the West Field Parking Lot.
- Livestock trailers may not be parked around the cattle barn or Dance Pavilion area.

Important Exhibitor Rules
- Entry forms must be received by the specified deadline.
- The entry fee must accompany the application.
- Competition is open to Texas exhibitors.
- Exhibitors must be familiar with all applicable rules and regulations.
- All animals must comply with applicable Texas Animal Health Regulations.
- Awards are presented in departments with qualifying competition.
- Only first-place animals are eligible to compete for Grand Championship honors unless otherwise stated in the division rules.
- Exhibitors must follow the instructions of livestock officials, show personnel and judges.

Lamb & Goat Exhibitions
The Guadalupe County Fair Sheep and Goat Show provides exhibitors with an opportunity to present the results of their livestock care, preparation and showmanship.
The show includes breeding does, breeding ewes, market goats, market lambs, showmanship classes, the Guadalupe Shootout and Old Timers' Showmanship.

Sheep & Goat Show Information

$35 per animal
Showmanship Entry Fee
$5 per contestant
No fee for PeeWee contestants.
Entry Information
- The entry fee is $35 per animal.
- Entries must be completed through the online entry platform.
- The online entry platform will open approximately two weeks before the show.
- Online entries and payments will be accepted until 8:30 a.m. on the day of the show.
- Cash will also be accepted during check-in on the day of the show.
- There are no early-entry or late-entry fees.
- Showmanship and Guadalupe Shootout entries should also be submitted through the online platform.
Arrival, Pens & Weigh-In
- Barns open at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the show.
- Limited pen space is available inside the barn.
- Exhibitors using indoor pen space must provide their own livestock shavings.
- Additional space is available for parking and showing from livestock trailers.
- Exhibitors are responsible for weighing their own animals and submitting the weights through the entry platform.
- Sheep and goat scales will be available on site.
- Scales available on site may not be certified.
- The appropriate sheep or goat scale must be used for weighback verification.

Judging begins with Showmanship at 9:00 a.m. Breeding Does and Ewes will follow Showmanship. Market Goat and Market Lamb classes will follow the breeding shows.
Showmanship Classes
The Showmanship entry fee is $5 per contestant. There is no entry fee for PeeWee contestants.
- PeeWee: Ages 5–8 and not enrolled in third grade
- Junior: Third through fifth grade
- Intermediate: Sixth through eighth grade
- Senior: Ninth through twelfth grade
Breeding & Market Classes
Breeding Does
The Breeding Doe Show includes Doe Kid, Yearling Doe and Aged Doe divisions. Divisions may be divided into weight classes depending on the number of entries and the Chairman's discretion.
Division placement for does is determined by teeth rather than birth date.
Breeding Ewes
The Breeding Ewe Show includes Ewe Lamb, Yearling Ewe and Aged Ewe divisions. Divisions may be divided into weight classes depending on the number of entries and the Chairman's discretion.
Breeding Ewe divisions are not divided by breed. Division placement is determined by teeth rather than birth date.
Market Goats
The Market Goat Show consists of three weight divisions. Each division may be divided into no more than four weight classes.
Market Lambs
Market Lamb divisions include:
- Southdown
- Finewool
- Finewool Cross
- Dorper
- Medium Wool
A minimum of three lambs of the same breed is required to establish a breed division. Breed divisions may be combined according to the official rules when the minimum number of entries is not met.
Animal Health & Weighback Requirements
- Market sheep and goats must have milk teeth.
- Animals must be free of external abscesses, sore mouth, ringworm, pink eye and parasites.
- Animals showing signs of a disqualifying health condition will not be allowed to enter the show.
- All livestock must comply with Texas Animal Health Regulations.
- Exhibitors may enter an unlimited number of animals unless otherwise restricted by the official rules.
- First-, second- and third-place market animals may be subject to weight verification.
- Market goats have a four-pound weighback allowance.
- Market lambs have a five-pound weighback allowance.
- Market lambs and goats have no minimum or maximum weight limits unless otherwise stated.
Guadalupe Shootout Lamb & Goat Show
There is no entry fee for the Guadalupe Shootout.
Exhibitors must be a 4-H or FFA member who resides in Guadalupe County, or attends school and participates in an FFA chapter located in Guadalupe County.
One class of market goats and one class of market lambs will be judged on:
- Animal quality
- Marketability
- Showmanship
The Guadalupe Shootout is not divided into breed or weight classes.
Old Timers' Showmanship
Old Timers' Showmanship gives parents, grandparents, guardians, aunts, uncles and older siblings an opportunity to switch places with the youth exhibitors and enter the show ring.
The Old Timers' class concludes the Sheep and Goat Show.
Awards
- The Grand Champion Market Lamb exhibitor will receive a $500 scholarship from the Guadalupe County Fair.
- The Grand Champion Market Goat exhibitor will receive a $500 scholarship from the Guadalupe County Fair.
- First- through third-place class exhibitors will receive cash premiums determined by the Chairman.
- First- through fourth-place exhibitors will receive ribbons.
- Champion Ewe and Doe exhibitors will receive trophy buckles and banners.
- Reserve Champion Ewe and Doe exhibitors will receive champion banners.
- Division Champions will receive banners.
- Supreme Breeding Ewe and Doe exhibitors will receive $100 each.
- Showmanship class winners will receive buckles and banners.
- PeeWee Showmanship winners will receive medals and banners.
- Old Timers' Showmanship winners will receive plaques and banners.
- Guadalupe Shootout class winners will receive banners.
