Guadalupe County Fair History

A Proud Texas Tradition Since 1883

More Than a Fair

A tradition generations have shared

There’s something special about a fair. Maybe it’s the glow of the midway at dusk, the sound of boots on wooden bleachers, or the pride in a young exhibitor’s eyes as they step into the ring.

Here in Seguin, that feeling has been part of life for generations.

1859

Where It All Began

The roots of the fair stretch back to 1859, when local farmers gathered on the town square in Seguin to share livestock, crops, and ideas.

By 1890, the first official fair opened, celebrating agriculture, craftsmanship, and community pride.
