The Guadalupe County Fair Association offers to the area youth one $3,000, four $1,000 and one $500 True Women scholarships yearly. These scholarships are to offer advanced education opportunities to the youth of the area by granting scholarship monies to students enrolled in Agricultural, Livestock, Outdoor Activities or Science Studies.
The purpose of the Fair Association is to encourage agricultural, horticultural and stock farming through the maintenance of public fairs and exhibits of stock and farm products, and also to offer advanced education opportunities to the youth of the area by granting scholarship monies to student enrolled in agricultural or livestock studies.
All applications must be returned to the school counselor by March 15, 2010. Part will be paid during the first semester and the reminder will be paid during the second semester at proof of registration. Scholarship funds must be collected within a year of the presentation of the award.
One of the scholarships was established in 2005 to honor the memory of Ron Velich, a former member of the Fair board. Your application will be considered for any of the six scholarships available.
